The House of Narender Uppal is located at Dhalii, near woodrina hotel, Shimla. The house is 4 storied with roof stepping back to complement natural terrain. Ground Floor is servent room & study. First floor having two bed rooms, second floor is at road level housing drawing, dining & kitchen. Master bed room is located on third floor. All floors except ground floor are connected with internal wooden stair.
External walls are five layers insulated wall that keeps internal environment warm in winters. Exterior most layer is Delhi stone followed by brick wall inside. Interior of building is complete wooden paneling and two layers of insulation are sandwiched between brick wall and wooden paneling. Exterior of building is stone cladded of black shade. Wooden posts and railing in balcony adds up to character of the building.
In the interior wooden flooring is provided to keep the interior warm. Cupboards wooden shutters fitted with sliding devices. It also provides convenient hanging at upper levels by means of a lever. Pre-painted sheet roofing is provided with wooden facia to add aesthetics. Fire place in drawing room provides warmth to the interior. Cobble stone paving in front yard & back verandah adds to the aesthetics of building.
